| On 12 - 13 May, West African
civil society discussed the Commission for Africa
report and urged G8 leaders to deliver on the reports’ recommendations.
Commissioner Fola
Adeola, presenting the report,
emphasized the role of the African private sector.
He called on participants to support the CFA, saying
that ‘a collective voice is needed in challenging
the G8 to deliver. All of us need to work together’.
The final report of the meetings reflected the wide-ranging
discussions on debt relief, capacity building, follow-up
mechanisms and the role of civil society in implementing
the Commission
for Africa recommendations.
