In parallel with the independent seminar series around G8 countries and the main Commission consultation events in Africa, Bob Geldof also invited prominent African thinkers and practitioners to add their perspectives to the debate. Richard Dowden, President of the Royal African Society, coordinated the series of letters. Each person was asked to respond, in less than 1000 words, to the following three questions:
1. Where do you think Africa will be in 2015?
2. How can it get there?
3. Why has it not got there already?
